The Moore County Historical Association believes that it is important to remember when the pace of life was slower. We place a high value on preserving the past and sharing history with others. In so doing, we provide interesting educational programs, historical lectures and photo exhibits, and tours of house-museums and of special places both near and far.

We own and maintain five house-museums built between the 1700s and 1800s. These houses and their period furnishings offer our community and visitors to the area, a glimpse of life of many centuries ago. We maintain a bookshop and photo archives at the Shaw House. Our archives contain thousands of images of the Sandhills and its residents and our books are of historical and genealogical interest. We also host many special events from lecture series to historical exhibits as well as major fundraising events including our famed Antiques Show and Sale held annually at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst.

We invite you to become a member of our Association and join us in our efforts to preserve and present for others the memories of earlier times. As a member, you will receive an assortment of benefits including discounts on purchases and tours plus free admission to our socials and lecture series.
